The reason why the village is so popular lies with the New Inn pub. The owner wanted to find ways to get the traffic passing from Cirencester the Stow on the Wold along the Fosseway to stop. They built a small model village out of local stone of the surrounding area. This includes the New Inn and the Church. This started to draw crowds. Then the local lord opened up his house to visitors to see his collection of Birds. Birdland is the most popular attraction in the Village at it’s far end.
There is also a small but fully filled Motor Museum containing rare cars, even rarer nick knacks and the childhood TV favourite Brum. There is also a model Railway and the famous Perfumery.
If the attractions are not for you then the windrush that flows through the village makes for a fabulous spot. There are ducks to feed and the world to watch go by. There is a huge range of eateries and coffee shops as well for you to try. It really is a great day out.
