Published originally in 1886 the Gothic novella, “The Strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde” was written by Robert Louis Stevenson. The story revolves around a London medical practitioner Gabriel John Utterson who embarks on untangling a macabre series of strange occurrences between his good friend Dr Henry Jekyll and a murdering psychotic criminal called Edward Hyde. Eventually Gabriel discovers that unfortunately the two are one and the same person! His friend Dr Jekyll has an evil side to him that he had suppressed until he drank of a self-made chemical concoction that brought out that dark and murderous side.
Dr Jekyll is a character who is approximately fifty years old and working in the medical profession, unfortunately he constantly struggles with an evil, dark side to his normal, stylish, composed façade.
