Don’t make the team building a work event

To get your employees engaged, you have to remove the word “work” from the equation. Teams that plan off-site activities during normal business hours, and not in the employees’ personal time, are more engaged. It helps remove the feeling of employees that they have a lot to do, such as “I must answer an email from X” or “I am overwhelmed with my to-do lists.”

Team building involves making your employees feel valued. By removing the work, you can make your guests feel appreciated and enjoy the event. For Corporate Team Building, contact https://www.270climbing.com/group-activities/corporate-team-building

When colleagues interact outside their normal workplace environment, they often learn new things about each other. They will discover some things they did not know before or find out about someone’s hidden talent or skills. It is not necessary to “debrief” or discuss how this new knowledge will be applied in the workplace. When people get to know one another outside their job roles and responsibilities, they will be better partners at work and develop better relationships.

Do not make people uncomfortable during your team building exercise

Remember to include all of your employees. Make sure that everyone is comfortable with the team-building event, no matter what the theme or physicality.

Every team has its own unique characteristics, so it is important to choose an activity or exercise that your team wants to do! The reason teambuilding gets a bad reputation is because people think they’ll be uncomfortable while doing the activity. Some people are more comfortable in the spotlight than others. Your activity should engage everyone, but do not single out any individuals to make them perform something they might feel embarrassed doing in front of their colleagues. Do not encourage people to “overshare or focus on conflicts.”
